Following Wolverhampton Wanderers’ relegation from the Premier League, Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare is now widely expected to be part of a summer clear-out at the club, Footynaija reports.

Wolves’ drop to the EFL Championship was confirmed after a damaging weekend in which they lost to Leeds United, while West Ham United picked up a crucial point against Crystal Palace. The results left Wolves stranded in the bottom three, unable to bridge a 16-point gap to safety with only five matches remaining.

For a club that began the campaign hoping to stabilise in mid-table, the reality has been stark. Just 17 points from their opening fixtures pointed to a difficult season, and attention has already shifted towards rebuilding for life outside the top flight.

Reports suggest Wolves are preparing for a significant overhaul of the squad, with several senior and recently signed players potentially moved on to reduce costs and reshape the team.

Arokodare, who only arrived at Molineux late in the summer transfer window, is among those facing an uncertain path.

The 25-year-old forward signed a long-term deal running until 2029, a move that initially signalled faith in his development. However, relegation often forces clubs into difficult financial and sporting decisions, and even relatively new signings are not immune.

His situation has not been helped by recent events off the pitch. The striker was reportedly involved in a dressing-room disagreement with teammate Mateus Mané following a heavy defeat to West Ham, raising further questions about his place within the squad. Shortly after, he was left on the bench for the clash with Leeds, the first time since early November that he did not feature in a league match.

On the pitch, Arokodare has delivered modest returns, scoring six goals in 33 appearances across all competitions. While those numbers reflect flashes of promise, they have not been enough to firmly secure his role in a struggling side.

With Wolves preparing for a reset in the Championship, the coming months could prove decisive. Whether Arokodare remains part of that rebuild or seeks a fresh start elsewhere is likely to be one of the key talking points as the club reshapes its future.
