Akor Adams has been in Spain long enough now to understand what LaLiga asks of its players and he’s under no illusions about how different it is from what he left behind, Footynaija.com reports.
The Sevilla striker, who joined the club from Montpellier after catching the eye in Ligue 1, has had to adapt his game since arriving in Spain. The transition hasn’t just been about quality.
It’s been about a fundamentally different way of playing football.

The 26-year-old was speaking during an interactive session organised by LaLiga on Tuesday, as reported by Premiumtimesng, where he laid out exactly what the adjustment has looked like from the inside.
‘There is more focus on details and experience’
“Ligue 1 is more raw and physical, with a lot of young players,” the Nigeria international said.
“But LaLiga is more tactical and technical. There is more focus on details and experience.”
That difference has required him to think faster and take tactical instructions far more seriously during matches. Coaching changes at Sevilla since his arrival have added to that process, but Adams has approached each transition the same way.
“As professionals, we don’t have so much time to understand,” he said.
“You have to be quick in learning and adapting to what the coach wants. I just listen and stay focused on the instructions.”
Despite the changes in the dugout, Adams said Sevilla’s core football identity has stayed consistent, and that has given him a stable framework to keep developing within.
The lessons haven’t come from coaching sessions alone. Adams has been drawing from Alexis Sanchez in training, watching how the experienced Chilean makes decisions and moves in the box.
“He thinks football, he speaks football,” Adams said of the former Arsenal man
“He’s very clever.”
It all feeds into a bigger picture Adams is still building. He’s contributed key goals and consistent displays this season, but he’s not ready to assess any of it just yet.
“I don’t rate my season until it is done,” he said.
“I want to score more goals and create more assists to help the team.”
