Super Eagles and Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has revealed three crucial things that have helped him enjoy a successful career as a professional footballer, Footynaija.com reports.
Osimhen, unarguably one of Nigeria’s biggest ever footballing exports, is currently making waves as one of the most prolific strikers in Europe.
The Nigeria international announced himself to the world after impressing at the U17 World Cup in 2015. Since then, he has enjoyed an outstanding career that has produced over 200 goals and three major trophies.
Speaking to youngsters developing their crafts at Beyond Limits FA, a football academy located in Ikenne, Ogun state and affiliated with reigning NPFL champions Remo Stars, Osimhen shared crucial tips that helped him in his journey to stardom.

“I know how it is to make it from the trenches, mostly when you play football,” Osimhen told the players via The Side Of Football Nobody Talks About show with Smallie.
“Many of us, just like me and the others who made it in football went through the same struggles that many of you are passing through today. At the end of the day, three things worked for me, and I believe that if you apply them, it’ll work for you by the special grace of God.
“The first is to believe in God; it’s the most important. For anything you want to become in life, whether a footballer or a successful businessman, you need to apply this.
“Secondly, hard work. You also need to be ready for failure. If I tell you there’s no failure, it’s a lie. You may have to face rejection many times, I’m speaking from my experience.
“Lastly, in anything you do, make sure you go to school. Make sure you’re educated, you can read and write, and make sure to have the right people around you. If you’re stubborn like me, use it in the right way. Be stubborn with your hustle. Also, be humble; it’ll take you far.
“In your team, there are a few people who are better than me. It’s just what it is. So, get on your knees and be humble in prayer. There are places your talent can never take you to that grace will.”

At the end of it all, Osimhen promised a cash gift of 10 million naira to the players with the understandably excited youngsters expressing their gratitude by chanting the striker’s name.
