Turkish football pundit Erman Toroğlu has sparked fresh debate in the Süper Lig by weighing up the strengths of Nigeria’s two hottest forwards, Paul Onuachu and Victor Osimhen, footynaija.com reports.
Toroğlu’s comparison comes after both Super Eagles forwards delivered decisive performances in another dramatic weekend of title-chasing football.
Trabzonspor’s Onuachu was the standout figure, powering his side to a dominant 3-0 away win over Samsunspor.

The towering striker struck twice in quick succession to set the tone for the victory, and could easily have left with four goals, only for one effort to be chalked off for a foul and another for offside. Those goals took him to 15 league strikes for the season, placing him alone at the top of the scoring charts.
Osimhen, meanwhile, continued his own rich vein of form for Galatasaray, finding the net in their comfortable 3-0 success at Çaykur Rizespor. It was his ninth league goal of the campaign and his 15th in all competitions, a milestone that also saw him surpass Bafétimbi Gomis as the club’s fifth highest-scoring foreign player.

While Osimhen is widely viewed as Nigeria’s leading striker and remains the most expensive signing in Turkish football history, Toroğlu believes Onuachu holds the edge in some technical aspects of attacking play.
“Trabzonspor signed Onuachu. He’s the second best player in Nigeria after Osimhen,” Toroğlu said as per 61Saat.
“Onuachu’s shooting technique is better than Osimhen’s. His through balls are better than Osimhen’s. His body feints are also better than Osimhen’s. Osimhen is slower in terms of speed, but despite his height, Onuachu’s mobility is truly incredible.”
Both forwards are set for another stern test this weekend, with Galatasaray visiting Eyüpspor on Friday before Trabzonspor host title rivals Fenerbahçe on Saturday. Osimhen claimed last season’s Golden Boot with 26 goals, but Onuachu is now leading the race this term.
