Former Turkish winger Hasan Sas believes reigning Super Lig champions Galatasaray are currently under-utilizing the goal-scoring talents of Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, Footynaija.com reports.
Osimhen was an instant hit for Galatasaray last season, plundering 44 goal contributions (37G, 7A) in 41 appearances across all competitions to guide The Lions to an impressive domestic haul of the Super Lig and Turkish Cup crowns.
This season, the Nigerian forward has continued to impress, scoring six goals in ten outings. However, Sas believes the club are yet to fully unlock his potential, particularly when it comes to exploiting his aerial prowess.

“You have a player like Victor Osimhen who is very good at heading the ball, but no crosses are coming at all!” Sas said, as revealed by Forza Cimbom.
“He’s Galatasaray’s biggest goal-scoring option, you know… Galatasaray’s full-backs aren’t crossing to Osimhen. They can’t. Use this option, for God’s sake—the guy heads every ball.
“We’re not seeing crosses from Eren, from Jakobs or Sallai. Sane cuts inside from time to time because he’s left-footed. Yunus has dribbling. We’re not seeing any from Barış. Who’s going to feed this player? Is Osimhen always going to have to fend for himself?”

The Super Eagles striker, who dominated the Super Lig scoring charts last season and claimed the Golden Boot with 26 goals in 30 league appearances, has found it more difficult to hit those same heights this term.
With only three goals in eight league games so far, Osimhen currently trails Eldor Shomurodov and compatriot Paul Onuachu, both of whom have seven goals each.
Perhaps, Galatasaray really do need to rejig their attacking structure in order to get the best out of their star striker as providing better service for Osimhen could be key to The Lions’ aim of continuing their dominance in Turkish football.
