Atalanta manager Ivan Juric offered an assessment of Super Eagles wide man Ademola Lookman’s performance after Sunday’s goalless draw against Lazio, Footynaija.com reports.
Lookman, who had initially been ostracized from Atalanta’s first team due to that summer transfer saga, was making just his second start under the Croatian manager.
The Nigeria international featured for 82 minutes at the New Balance Arena, looking lively in attack as Atalanta created chance after chance but failed to capitalize on any of their opportunities.
Lookman eventually made way for Daniel Maldini, bringing an end to a frustrating night for the attacker, who is still searching for his first goal contribution this season.
Speaking after the game, Juric, who chose to focus on his team’s performance rather than the result, offered positive assessments on both Lookman and Brazilian midfielder Ederson.

“I thought Ademola made the right moves and created a few chances,” he said in a post match interview. “We also saw the real Ederson today, and this means we can look to the future with confidence.
“I think the team should continue like this. We have ideas and good football, we are just missing the end product, the goals.”
With this latest draw, Atalanta remain the only unbeaten team in Serie A, posting two wins and five draws. This leaves them with 11 points after seven games and places them in eight position on the league standings.
Despite Juric’s positive reaction to Sunday’s result, the Croatian tactician will know that his team needs to start winning games on a consistent basis if they’re aiming for one of the UEFA Champions League spots by the end of the season.
