Nigeria’s World Cup qualifying preparations are in full swing after the Super Eagles squad hit full strength in Uyo, Footynaija.com reports.
Samuel Chukwueze, Victor Osimhen, Tolu Arokodare, Raphael Onyedika, and Chrisantus Uche all checked in on Wednesday, completing Eric Chelle’s roster ahead of crunch fixtures against Rwanda and South Africa.
Their arrival follows just a few hours after Ademola Lookman and Cyriel Dessers reported to camp, giving Chelle a complete blend of attacking firepower and midfield balance.
The 16 early birds to camp held their first training session on Tuesday evening with emphasis on tactical organisation, set-pieces, and fitness drills.
Another session is scheduled for Wednesday as cohesion builds ahead of Saturday’s clash.
After being excused from the Unity Cup in May, Osimhen returns to provide top-notch cutting edge in attack, while Chukwueze’s pace out wide is set to trouble opposing full-backs.
Arokodare brings height and versatility to the frontline, with Onyedika offering drive and control in midfield. Uche’s inclusion further strengthens central options, giving Chelle depth to adjust his system when needed.
Nigeria face Rwanda in Uyo before travelling to Bloemfontein to meet South Africa in back-to-back qualifiers that could shape Group C. With maximum points the target, Chelle now has the tools to field a competitive and balanced side capable of taking command of the group.
