Nigeria’s Super Falcons turned on the style in their final warm-up game before the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, powering to a 3-1 win over Ghana’s Black Queens, Footynaija.com reports.

After a stalemate against Portugal in Lisbon, Justin Madugu’s side took to the pitch in Morocco looking for sharpness — and they found it.

Ghana had come into the tie on the back of confidence-boosting wins over Malawi and Benin, but it was Nigeria who asserted dominance.

The opening exchanges were tight, but the breakthrough came in the 34th minute through an own goal forced by Pachuca striker Chinwendu Ihezuo.

Bay FC striker Asisat Oshoala doubled the advantage just before the interval, converting from the spot after Nigeria won a penalty. It was a welcome goal for the six-time African Women’s Footballer of the Year, her first of 2025.

Rasheedat Ajibade added a third early in the second half, continuing her fine scoring form with a slick finish — her third goal in two matches.

Ghana responded with urgency late on and had a goal chalked off for offside before Alice Kusi netted a penalty in the dying minutes.

The win offers Nigeria a timely morale boost ahead of their WAFCON group opener against Tunisia on July 6.
