Juventus are expected to back down in their pursuit of highly sought-after Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen following the imminent departure of sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli, Footynaija.com understands.
The Bianconeri have been one of Osimhen’s most eager suitors heading into this summer transfer window. According to reports Juve have been pushing for the Nigerian’s signature despite Napoli’s reluctance to negotiate with any direct rivals.
Juventus’ push for Osimhen is understood to stem from Giuntoli’s desire to bring the former Lille hitman to Turin. Giuntoli was responsible for bringing Osimhen to Italy, signing the Super Eagles forward from France when he was sporting director at Napoli.
Having made preparations to launch a bid for Osimhen in the coming weeks, Juventus are now expected to abandon those plans in the wake of Giuntoli’s imminent departure from his role as the Bianconeri’s sporting director as per Football Italia.

Despite this, Victor Osimhen remains spoiled for options as he ponders his next destination ahead of the 2025/2026 season. The likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United are some of his well known suitors.
Galatasaray are also desperate to keep the prolific hitman following a successful season-long loan spell that saw him notch 36 goals in 40 appearances across all competitions.
He broke numerous records while firing the Lions to a 25th Turkish Super Lig triumph and helping to deliver a first Turkiye Kupasi triumph in six years.

With the summer transfer window now open, Osimhen’s next destination will be one of the most closely monitored by fans and pundits alike.
