Chelsea’s plans for the summer could hinge on two major decisions: whether the club sticks with Liam Rosenior and whether they can secure Champions League football, Footynaija reports.

Reports suggest the Stamford Bridge hierarchy may consider another managerial change if results slip and the club fails to reach Europe’s top competition.

Rosenior only arrived earlier this year following the departure of Enzo Maresca, stepping up from French side RC Strasbourg, another club connected to the BlueCo ownership group.

The young coach has overseen encouraging spells during his short time in charge. Chelsea have won 10 of their last 16 matches in all competitions, keeping them within touching distance of the Premier League’s top four. Yet doubts remain about whether the long-term project should continue under Rosenior.

Recent setbacks have not helped his case. Chelsea were knocked out of the EFL Cup and also endured a damaging European defeat against Paris Saint‑Germain in the Champions League. The London side conceded three late goals in the final 16 minutes of their round-of-16 first-leg clash, eventually losing 5-2 and leaving themselves with a steep challenge ahead of the return match.

Despite that disappointment, the club remain fifth in the Premier League, only three points off the final Champions League qualification places.

However, an El Nacional report claims BlueCo could still look for a new manager if Chelsea miss out on the competition.
One name strongly linked with the job is Unai Emery, who is currently in charge of Aston Villa. It is claimed that discussions have already taken place and that the Spanish coach would accept the role only if he is given authority to reshape the squad.

Central to those reported demands is the signing of a prolific striker. Emery is believed to want a forward capable of scoring more than 30 goals a season, a profile that fits Nigerian international Victor Osimhen.

The Nigerian forward, now starring for Galatasaray after leaving Napoli last summer for a Turkish-record €75m fee, has delivered outstanding numbers with 55 goals and 15 assists in 68 appearances.

Chelsea could face strong competition for his signature. Real Madrid are also believed to be monitoring the forward closely, and any deal could trigger a bidding battle that drives the price well beyond €100m.
