FC Nantes are preparing to cash in on long-serving Nigerian winger Moses Simon, with Turkish giants Trabzonspor emerging as front-runners for his signature, Footynaija.com reports.

According to reports from the French outlet Livefoot as per Sporx, the Ligue 1 side has decided to greenlight Simon’s transfer this summer, with just one year left on the 29-year-old’s contract. The club is keen to generate a meaningful transfer fee before losing him on a free in 2025.

Simon, who has spent five years at Nantes, is reportedly looking for a new challenge abroad, with Premier League club Everton also monitoring his situation.

Nantes’ management is believed to view this summer’s transfer window as their ‘last big opportunity’ to profit from the Nigerian international, and are said to be demanding around €10 million for his services.

Trabzonspor have been named as the most serious suitor, although interest in Simon isn’t limited to Turkey.

Ligue 1 rivals OGC Nice and Olympique Marseille were also linked with the winger during the January window.

However, Marseille’s pursuit is thought to hinge on whether they qualify for next season’s Champions League, with the €10m price tag potentially proving too steep without European competition.

Simon has delivered yet another solid campaign in 2024, recording seven goals and nine assists in 31 appearances across all competitions.
