“Osimhen is the one” – Chelsea legend believes Super Eagles striker will be perfect for Arsenal

Former England and Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole has urged Mikel Arteta and Arsenal to prioritize the signing of Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen ahead of the summer transfer window, Footynaija.com reports.

Osimhen’s blistering form-29 goals in 33 appearances- at Galatasaray has made him one of the hottest commodities set to be available on the market this summer and many top clubs are already circling around the prolific Nigerian striker.

Chief among his band of suitors are Premier League clubs Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United. These three clubs, in pressing need of a proven finisher, have been relentlessly linked with the 26-year-old goal-machine.

However, while the Red Devils look set to seriously explore their interest in Osimhen, the Gunners and the Blues have both been tipped to pursue other striking options this summer.

Cole, who won three Premier League titles at Chelsea, has urged Arteta’s Arsenal to return their focus to securing Osimhen’s signature ahead of next season, insisting that the Nigerian hitman would be “perfect” for the Gunners.

“Osimhen, I know he’s had this little strange one where he’s gone to Turkey, and he’s banging in goals, but he looks perfect for Arsenal for me,”  the former England international said on the Dressing Room Podcast as reported by Standard UK.

“Isak, yeah, but why would he go to Arsenal now? If Newcastle could spend more, I can’t see Isak being an option. Osimhen is the one for me for Arsenal.”

Osimhen will certainly be on the move this summer, having all but cut ties with parent club Napoli last summer. However, his next destination remains uncertain at this point. For now, the Super Eagles marksman will focus on maintaining his ruthless edge in front of goal to keep his band of prospective suitors on their toes.
