English Premier League outfit Crystal Palace are weighing up a move for Super Eagles midfielder Frank Onyeka following his strong performances during his loan spell at German side FC Augsburg, Footynaija.com reports.

After joining Augsburg on loan from Brentford at the start of the 2024–25 campaign, Onyeka has re-established himself as a reliable midfield option under coach Jess Thorup. He has already featured in 26 matches and has one assist to his name.

Onyeka’s performances have not gone unnoticed, with reports from Africa Foot claiming that Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner is closely monitoring the Nigerian.

The Eagles are said to be keen on strengthening their midfield options ahead of the summer window, and Onyeka’s profile ticks several boxes. His Premier League experience, work rate, and tactical flexibility make him a solid target.

The former FC Midtjylland man joined Brentford in 2021 and has since made 78 appearances for the West London side. However, his time at Brentford has been a mix of highs and lows, leading to a loan move to Augsburg at the beginning of the season.

Onyeka himself is reportedly open to returning to the Premier League. The player still has a contract with Brentford until 2027, but it looks to be seen whether the club will integrate him back into their squad or allow him to move on permanently.

At international level, Onyeka has earned 26 caps for Nigeria and scored once. He remains a solid option in the Super Eagles set-up under new coach Eric Chelle, and his performances in Germany have helped revive his standing after limited action in England.

For Palace, the move could be a smart piece of business, as Onyeka’s arrival would add energy and experience to their engine room.
