Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi is closing in on a move to Bundesliga club Hamburger SV after falling out of favour at French side OGC Nice, Footynaija.com reports.
The 27-year-old Nigerian is reportedly in advanced negotiations with the German club, who are working to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new Bundesliga season.
Moffi is one of two players HSV are currently pushing to sign according to Bullinews, with Leeds United defender Sebastian Bornauw also understood to be nearing a move to the Bundesliga outfit. The Nigerian forward, however, will be particularly keen on a fresh start after a difficult spell in France.

Moffi spent the second half of last season on loan at FC Porto after downing tools at Nice, but the Portuguese giants ultimately decided against activating their €8 million option to sign him permanently.
The striker made 15 appearances across all competitions during his time in Portugal, scoring twice as he continued his recovery from a serious ACL injury that had hampered him at Nice. His situation at the French club has since become increasingly uncertain, with reports indicating that he has been left out of first-team training as Nice look to offload him permanently.
A move to Hamburg could therefore provide Moffi with the opportunity to rebuild his career in one of Europe’s top five leagues. Moffi has also attracted interest from Turkish giants Besiktas, while Premier League newcomers Hull City have reportedly been offered the opportunity to sign the forward.
The Nigerian has nevertheless emerged as a serious target for Hamburg, with the club now pushing to complete negotiations. Moffi will be hoping that a move to Germany can help him regain his best form and strengthen his position with the Super Eagles after recently returning to the international setup.
