New England Revolution midfielder Alhassan Yusuf has arrived in the Super Eagles camp in Kigali, completing Nigeria’s squad ahead of Friday’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Rwanda, Footynaija.com reports.

The Super Eagles began their camp on Sunday night with the arrival of coaching staff and six players, gradually building up to a full-strength squad.

The team has been undergoing intense preparations, including gym sessions and tactical drills, as they seek to bounce back from a disappointing start to their World Cup qualifying campaign.

Yusuf’s arrival boosts Nigeria’s midfield options, giving head coach Eric Chelle an extra dimension as he finalizes his tactics.

The 24-year-old impressed at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations but was sidelined after an injury against Equatorial Guinea.

Now in Major League Soccer following a switch from Belgium, Yusuf has quickly adapted, featuring in four games for New England Revolution. The former Royal Antwerp star has played predominantly as a defensive midfielder but has also been used in a left-midfield role.

With all 23 players now in camp, Chelle has a full squad at his disposal as Nigeria, currently fifth in Group C, look to reignite their World Cup qualification hopes.

The Super Eagles must secure maximum points at the Amahoro Stadium to stay in contention, and Yusuf’s presence could prove crucial in their push for victory against Rwanda.
