Manchester United’s bid to sign highly sought-after Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen may eventually become complicated by his significant wage demands, Footynaija.com understands.

United’s courtship of the on-loan Napoli forward is a well known affair, with the Red Devils having been linked to the prolific hitman in several transfer windows in recent years.

According to Yagız Sabuncuoglu via X, the Old Trafford giants are prepared to go all in for the Nigerian international, whose situation they have monitored since he signed for Napoli in the summer of 2020.

However, while Ruben Amorim’s United are ready to meet Napoli’s valuation of Osimhen in the summer, the Nigerian’s huge wage demands could potentially complicate a deal as the Red Devils have to be wary of a PSR breach.

As a result, rumours have it that Manchester United may decide to turn their attention to highly-rated Ipswich Town center forward Liam Delap, who has impressed immensely this season despite playing for the Premier League strugglers.

Liam Delap

Give Me Sport initially reported Manchester United’s interest in Delap last month and The HardTackle now claims that the Red Devils believe that they stand a better chance signing the former Manchester City youth team player than they do with Osimhen.

The 22-year-old, who has ten goals in the Premier League this season, is valued at £50 million by the Tractor boys while Napoli’s asking price for Osimhen is pegged at over £60 million. With PSR issues in the picture, it wouldn’t be surprising if Delap ends up moving to Old Trafford instead of Osimhen.
