Chelsea and Manchester United have been given a major boost in their pursuit of Victor Osimhen, with the striker’s camp confirming he is open to joining either club, Footynaija.com reports.

According to TBR Football’s Graeme Bailey, Osimhen’s camp has made it clear the Super Eagles striker would move to the Premier League even if it means missing out on Champions League football.

The 26-year-old, currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, has been in sensational form, scoring 26 goals in 30 appearances for the Turkish side.

His performances have reignited interest from Premier League clubs, with Arsenal, Aston Villa, and Newcastle United also keeping tabs. But United and Chelsea appear to be leading the race.

Napoli still hold Osimhen’s contract and have given his representatives the green light to secure him a move. His release clause stands at £75 million but, as reported by Sky Sports Marco Demichelis, Napoli are reportedly willing to negotiate a lower fee.

Chelsea were close to signing Osimhen last summer before he eventually moved to Galatasaray. With their attack struggling, Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku dealing with injuries, the Blues are weighing up another approach.

According to Bailey, Osimhen is open to a Stamford Bridge move, even if Chelsea fail to qualify for the Champions League.

Also, Manchester United have struggled for goals this season, relying heavily on Rasmus Højlund. Ruben Amorim’s side desperately needs a proven goal scorer, and Osimhen fits the profile.

Bailey reports that his camp has already indicated his willingness to move to Old Trafford, regardless of whether the Red Devils secure European football.

Saudi Pro League clubs, led by former Chelsea director Michael Emenalo, are also in the mix for Osimhen. However, according to Bailey, the Nigerian has no interest in moving to the Middle East and is fully focused on securing a Premier League switch.

While Chelsea and United are in the strongest positions, Arsenal, Aston Villa, and Newcastle have not ruled themselves out.

Arsenal are considering attacking reinforcements, Newcastle could need a replacement if Alexander Isak moves on, and Villa may want extra firepower for their European campaign next season.

Galatasaray are keen to keep Osimhen permanently and are willing to break their transfer record to do so. However, with the former African Best Player prioritising England, a long-term stay in Turkey seems unlikely.

With Napoli open to talks and Osimhen’s camp working on his next move, Chelsea and United must now decide whether to submit an official bid. If either club acts quickly, they could land one of Europe’s most clinical strikers at a bargain price.

The summer transfer window is shaping up to be a big one for Osimhen. With the green light now given, it’s up to the Premier League’s top clubs to make their move.
