Napoli are prepared to negotiate Victor Osimhen’s future this summer, with the Serie A club reportedly willing to consider player-exchange deals, Soccernet.football reports.

The 26-year-old Nigerian international is currently on loan at Galatasaray, having failed to secure a permanent move in the last transfer window. His move to Turkey was made possible because the Süper Lig’s market remained open longer than most of Europe’s top leagues.

Since arriving in Istanbul, Osimhen has been in sensational form, scoring 17 goals in 23 matches. His performances have propelled Galatasaray to the summit of the Turkish league and into the Europa League playoffs.

Osimhen signed a contract extension with Napoli in December 2023, tying him to the club until June 2026.

That deal initially included a £100 million release clause, which proved a stumbling block for potential suitors last summer. However, reports suggest that this clause will drop significantly to around £65 million at the end of the current season.

This price reduction is expected to reignite interest from Europe’s top clubs, particularly Chelsea and Manchester United, both of whom are actively seeking a world-class striker. Arsenal, Newcastle United, and Aston Villa have also been linked with the Nigerian star.

Chelsea’s need for a clinical No. 9 has been well-documented, while Arsenal’s title ambitions could be boosted by a striker of Osimhen’s pedigree. Newcastle, backed by their wealthy owners, are also keeping a close eye on developments.

Despite the mounting Premier League interest, Osimhen’s future could still lie in Turkey.

Galatasaray reportedly made a €65 million bid to sign him permanently earlier this year, which Napoli rejected. However, should they return with an improved offer, the Serie A side may be more willing to negotiate.

Juventus have also emerged as a potential suitor, but any deal involving a direct rival in Italy would be far more complicated. Napoli would prefer to sell Osimhen abroad, making an English club the likeliest destination.

If Manchester United choose to pursue Osimhen aggressively, they may have another advantage beyond their financial muscle.

New manager Ruben Amorim deploys a 3-4-3 system that relies heavily on a powerful central striker—precisely the role Osimhen thrives in. His blend of pace, strength, and clinical finishing makes him an ideal fit for United’s attacking setup.

With Napoli open to swap deals, United could explore an exchange involving Alejandro Garnacho or Højlund. While such a move would reduce the financial burden, it would also require tough decisions regarding their young talents.

Garnacho, in particular, has shown enormous potential and is viewed as a future star at Old Trafford. Similarly, Højlund, despite an inconsistent first season, remains a long-term prospect for United’s No. 9 role.

With Osimhen’s release clause dropping and Napoli open to negotiations, a summer bidding war is expected. Chelsea, Arsenal, and Newcastle are all monitoring the situation, but Manchester United’s pressing need for a reliable goal-scorer—and their willingness to discuss a player swap—could put them in pole position.
