Man United knock back Premier League rivals’ McTominay transfer bid

Manchester United have rejected a bid from Premier League rivals Fulham for Scott McTominay, who is also attracting interest from Turkish Super Lig side Galatasaray, Soccernet.football understands.

The 27-year-old midfielder has just one year left on his current contract at Old Trafford, however, United have the option to extend his stay by a further year.

McTominay’s situation at United has prompted Premier League rivals to make their move with Fulham reportedly tabling an opening bid for the midfielder.

However, according to Mail online, Fulham’s offer is suggested to be below West Ham United’s £30 million offer which was turned down last summer, hence Man United’s refusal to consider the Cottagers’ bid.

The United academy graduate has also caught the eyes of foreign suitors with Galatasaray vice president Ibrahim Hatipoglu confirming that his side have added the midfielder to their shortlist for this summer.

“McTominay’s transfer fee is being discussed,” he was quoted by Haber Sarı Kırmızı. “Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is a good player, he has many suitors, he wants to see all options.

“There is no talk of single-digit figures for right-back and midfield transfers. But we have allocated a budget of less than €10million for right-back.

“There is no negative situation regarding Guela Doue [Rennes right-back]. Negotiations are ongoing [for] McTominay and Doue. Wan-Bissaka is not our priority.”

McTominay appeared destined to leave Old Trafford a year ago but experienced a remarkable turnaround under current manager Erik ten Hag, netting a career-high 10 goals last season despite the challenges faced by the Red Devils.

United manager Ten Hag was very vocal about the Scotland international’s importance to the team last season, insisting that the Carrington product was ‘Manchester United in everything in his heart’.

However, it remains to be seen whether the Red Devils would maintain their no-sale stance if a suitable offer for the midfielder’s signature is brought to the table.
