Xavi Simons’s next stop could be the biggest of his career as the Dutch forward could be set to leave Paris Saint-Germain permanently this summer, Soccernet.ng understands.

Bayern Munich are considering a €100 million bid for Paris Saint-Germain’s attacking midfielder, Xavi Simons, according to Sport Bild.

Simons, 21, spent last season on loan at RB Leipzig, scoring 10 goals and providing 15 assists in 44 matches. Bayern’s new sporting director, Max Eberl, who brought Simons to Leipzig, is keen to bring the Dutchman to Munich.

The potential transfer is complicated. PSG currently hold Simons’ contract, while his former club, PSV Eindhoven, would be entitled to a portion of the transfer fee until 2025.

Despite these challenges, Bayern believe signing Simons would be a significant statement. Pairing him with Jamal Musiala, also 21 and has been one of the most outstanding performers at Euro 2024, could strengthen their attack for years to come.

Simons was recently ranked as the 16th-best midfielder in the world by FC 100. He is currently in Germany for the European Championship and played 62 minutes in the Netherlands’ 2-1 win over Poland.

With him, Bayern could look to turn the page of a forgettable 2023/24 season.

Bayern Munich had a disappointing season, reaching the Champions League semifinals but failing to win the Bundesliga. Bayer Leverkusen claimed the league title for the first time in their history.

Following this season, Bayern appointed Vincent Kompany, former captain of Belgium’s national team, as their new manager. He replaces Thomas Tuchel, who left after a trophyless campaign.
