5. Alessandro Bastoni

Touted as the best Italian defender in the game at the moment, Bastoni is a prime example of the modern day center back.

With the quality he has displayed throughout this season for Inter, the Italian can surely walk into the back four of many top European teams.

The 25-year-old defender has been a key member of a very solid Inter defense this season. The Nerazzurri have kept 19 clean sheets, the most by any team in the Serie A while also boasting the least number of goals conceded-19.

Bastoni has also contributed in attack, scoring once and providing three assists.

4. Federico Dimarco

Dimarco is another star of Inzaghi’s Inter defensive setup. A dynamic wing-back vital to both defense and attack, the Italian international has solidified his status as one of Europe’s top full-backs.

Born in Milan and a lifelong supporter of the Nerazzurri, Dimarco has become a key player for the club, playing a vital part in Inter’s solid defensive displays throughout the campaign.

The 26-year-old defender has scored 5 goals and provided 6 assists in 28 Serie A appearances for Inter this season.

3. Marcus Thuram

The French forward joined Inter from Borussia Monchengladbach on a free transfer last summer as Romelu Lukaku’s replacement upfront and the 26-year-old has filled those shoes superbly.

Inzaghi has heavily utilized the 2022 World Cup finalist in the Serie A this season and the Frenchman has repaid his manager’s trust in him with some very fine performances across the season.

Thuram has been directly involved in 20 goals for the Nerazzurri in the Serie A this campaign, scoring 13 goals and creating another 7 across 33 appearances with his goal against local rivals AC Milan sealing the Scudetto win.

2. Hakan Çalhanoğlu

The Turkish international has been a standout performer for Inter throughout this title winning campaign. Çalhanoglu has flourished in a deep-lying role where he has been deployed since Marcelo Brozovic left the club.

Çalhanoglu’s transition from an attacking midfielder to a deep-lying playmaker at the base of Inter’s midfield trio has appeared seamless as the 30-year-old has adapted himself to the role brilliantly.

Çalhanoglu has had a sublime season, contributing 13 goals and 3 assists from his deep-lying role where he mostly dictates play for the Nerazzurri.

1. Lautaro Martinez

The Inter captain proved himself to be a leader by example throughout the Serie A campaign, helping Thuram settle nicely in his first season as he shouldered the weight of leading the Nerazzurri front line.

Rather than buckle under the pressure of becoming Inter’s main man up front, the Argentine forward has thrived in his new role, leading the way atop the Serie A top scorers chart and cementing his status as one of the deadliest center forwards in the game.

Martinez has notched 24 goals and provided 3 assists across 32 Serie A appearances this season. The Inter skipper is poised to win the Paolo Rossi award at the end of the season.
