Spain have revealed their provisional squad for the 2024 UEFA European Football Championship, Soccernet.football reports.

Premier League players Rodri, David Raya, and Marc Cucurella are included, while Tottenham Hotspur’s Pedro Porro is left out.

Barcelona’s young talents, Pau Cubarsi, Lamine Yamal, and Fermin Lopez, have all been named in the squad.

Joselu, a former player for Stoke City and Newcastle United, and a Real Madrid star from the Champions League semifinal, is also included.

Real Betis’ Ayoze Perez, 30, who has yet to earn a cap, may get his first chance.

Goalkeepers Kepa Arrizabalaga and Robert Sanchez, along with Aston Villa’s Pau Torres and Tottenham Hotspur’s Pedro Porro, have not been selected by Spain manager Luis de la Fuente.

Injured Barcelona players Gavi and Alejandro Balde are also left out. Gavi is recovering from an ACL tear, and Balde has had surgery on his right hamstring.

At a press conference, Luis de la Fuente emphasized the provisional nature of the squad, saying, “All players have the same chance to be in the Euro 2024. This larger list helps us cover any unforeseen events.”

“We are protecting ourselves and covering any contingency that could arise. Decisions on the final 26 players for the Euro Cup will be made later.”

He added, “We seek the best possible team. We have very competitive forwards. Regarding Ayoze Pérez, I think it is time to give him this opportunity.”
