Manchester United urged to go all out for Super Eagles star ahead of summer transfer window

Manchester United are interested in reinforcing their defence line this summer with Juventus star Gleison Bremer one of the four centre-backs the Red Devils will target, Soccernet.football understands.

United have endured one of their worst seasons in the Premier League and are set to finish no higher than seventh position, potentially more than 30 points behind title favourites Manchester City.

A shabby defensive record has been the bane of Erik Ten Hag’s men with United conceding an astonishing 58 goals – three more than the 55 goals they scored heading to the final match of the campaign.

With Raphael Varane and Jonny Evans set to leave at the end of their contracts this summer and the futures of Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire in doubt, Man United are desperately in need of defenders.

And according to transfer guru, Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United have their eyes set on signing one or two of four defenders who have made waves for their clubs.

United have reportedly shortlisted Juventus star Gleison Bremer, Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo, Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite, and Benfica’s Antonio Silva.

“Nothing is decided yet on the future of Erik Ten Hag – Manchester United want to wait until after the FA Cup final, and then United want to advance in internal talks to make a decision on Ten Hag as soon as possible,” Romano said on CaughtOffside, as per Football Transfers.

“They want to plan for the new season, with their new board and people from INEOS, but of course the manager will also be crucial and essential to discuss for the future.

“Man United want to involve their coach with their plans, but let’s see if it will be Ten Hag or not. It’s still very open, but we’ll see in the next weeks, after the FA Cup final, nothing is decided one side or the other just yet.

“Obviously this is going to have an impact on the market – United will be super busy this summer as many players will be leaving and the club also plan for many new players to join. We know United are looking for a new centre-back, maybe two.

“Nothing is close now for United, despite rumours. There are things to clarify internally before moving forward with new signings. I keep mentioning Gleison Bremer, Jean-Clair Todibo, Jarrad Branthwaite, and Antonio Silva among the centre-backs they like but it’s really open still, no decision has been made.”

Man Utd have no intention of allowing Argentine centre-back Lisandro Martínez to leave this summer despite the 26-year-old only playing ten league games due to injury.
