Arsenal’s Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus has shared his isights on some of his teammates, toughest opponents, and season highlights, Soccernet.football reports.

The former Manchester City as battled with injury this term but he remains a crucial player for the Gunners as they challenge for the league title.

In an interview published on Arsenal’s official website, Jesus bares it all on his relationship with manager Mikel Arteta, compatriot Gabriel Martinelli, former Chelsea ace Kai Havertz, and French defender William Saliba among others.

Regarding Arsenal’s performance this season compared to the previous one, Jesus acknowledges the team’s progress. He notes improvements in defensive capabilities and the ongoing title contention, emphasizing the importance of focusing on each game individually.

“We are building a very good side,” Jesus remarked. “From last season to this season, it’s a little different how we play and I can’t say if it’s better or not, but it’s very good.”

Addressing Kai Havertz’s adaptation to the team, Jesus praises the German’s commitment and form, highlighting the positive impact of Coach Mikel Arteta’s belief in him.

“The coach believes in him and that’s so important for a player’s confidence,” Jesus noted. “It wasn’t easy for him at first but we supported him and now he’s playing with a smile on his face.”

Jesus shares a longstanding relationship with Arteta, spanning over seven years. Having worked together at Manchester City before Arteta’s move to Arsenal, Jesus values the coach’s guidance and support throughout their journey together.

“I’ve learned a lot because I have known him for more than seven years now,” Jesus said. “He knows me and I know him very well. He’s helped me a lot in the past and he’s helping me now.”

Reflecting on the chemistry between himself, Bukayo Saka, and Gabriel Martinelli, Jesus expresses regret over their limited playing time together this season due to injuries. However, he remains hopeful for their reunion on the pitch, emphasizing their understanding and synergy.

“It’s a shame because last season we were flying together and the connection was really good,” Jesus lamented. “We played with a lot of freedom and movement, and I hope we can come back and play together more because I think we understand each other on the pitch.”

Turning to Gabriel Martinelli’s attributes, Jesus admires the Brazilian’s hunger for improvement and relentless work ethic, traits he believes are characteristic of Brazilian and Latino players in general. He commends Martinelli’s transition from Brazilian football to the Premier League, highlighting his adaptability and determination.

“One hundred per cent. I think not only Brazil, but the Latinos are like this,” Jesus affirmed. “A lot of the skill comes from playing beach football and on the streets, but whttp://Soccernet.footballe also have that hunger and we want to work hard for our teammates. Gabi is only 22 and he has played at the World Cup, on big stages, and I hope he carries on working hard and getting better. I hope he doesn’t change the way he is now, because he is a machine.”

Regarding William Saliba, known for his jovial personality off the pitch and formidable presence on it, Jesus praises the defender’s talent and partnership with Gabriel. He describes Saliba as a formidable opponent in training, acknowledging the challenge he poses.

“Everyone knows how good he is, but not only him – he and Gabriel match up perfectly,” Jesus explained. “Off the pitch he’s one of the funniest guys here, but not because he’s joking all the time. It’s just the way he is. He’s very special.”

When asked about Arsenal’s defensive legacy and the potential of current defenders to match past legends like Tony Adams and Sol Campbell, Jesus expresses confidence in their abilities. He believes they are still evolving and can reach the highest levels with continued dedication.

“For sure,” Jesus asserted. “The way they play together is so important, and defending is hard, especially away from home, against top teams. I think they’re still getting better and will carry on getting better.”

Despite the ups and downs of the season, Gabriel Jesus remains committed to Arsenal’s success and eager to contribute to the team’s journey moving forward.
