Suleman Sani has left RB Leipzig for Saudi Pro League side Al-Qadsiah in a move that could give the Nigerian winger the regular first-team football he struggled to find in Germany, Footynaija reports.
The 20-year-old completed the transfer on the final day of Saudi Arabia’s transfer window, according to SkySports. Reports say Al-Qadsiah will pay up to €8m for the Nigeria youth international, who is expected to sign a three-year contract with an option for another season.
Sani’s move brings a quick end to his time at Leipzig. He joined the German club from Slovakia’s AS Trenčín in January 2026 but never made a competitive appearance for their senior team.

Injuries played a part in his difficult start, while competition for attacking places also made it hard for him to break into the squad. Players such as Antonio Nusa, Johan Bakayoko, Brajan Gruda and Tidiam Gomis were competing for places in Leipzig’s attack.
Sani was not included in the squad for Leipzig’s opening Bundesliga game of the 2026-27 season, a 3-0 win over Borussia Mönchengladbach.
His move to Saudi Arabia is a very different path from the one Leipzig expected when they signed him.
Before arriving in Germany, Sani had built a strong reputation at Trenčín. He scored 16 goals and provided seven assists in 59 competitive matches for the Slovak club after starting his senior career with Akwa United in Nigeria.
Leipzig reportedly paid just over €5m to sign him and gave him a contract until 2031, with the No. 18 shirt. The German club could now make about €3m from his sale despite Sani failing to play a competitive match for them.
Al-Qadsiah offers the young winger another chance to prove himself at senior level. The club finished fourth in the Saudi Pro League last season and has also attracted major players, including Tijjani Reijnders from Manchester City.
