Bayern Munich are reportedly eyeing a sensational reunion with former boss Pep Guardiola as they embark on the quest for a new head coach.

The Man City manager previously steered the Bavarian giants to glory during his tenure, a fact not lost on the Bayern hierarchy.

Guardiola’s current post at Manchester City sees him basking in success, having clinched an unprecedented treble last season and currently contending for yet another Premier League crown.

While the Catalan strategist committed to City until at least 2025, whispers from within Bayern’s corridors suggest a growing desire to lure him back to familiar territory, as per Kicker.

Guardiola’s earlier stint in Munich bore Bundesliga and German Super Cup triumphs.

The former Barcelona manager still owns an apartment in Munich and there are talks of unfinished business in Germany as he failed to lift the Champions League with Bayern.

However, any immediate move appears improbable, especially with Guardiola hinting at a potential contract extension amidst Jurgen Klopp’s impending departure from Liverpool.

“I’m fine. There’s still one more year, I want to do it – and maybe I will extend,” Guardiola remarked.
