Victor Osimhen continued his fine goalscoring form in the Turkish Süper Lig, netting twice for Galatasaray in a dramatic 3-3 draw against Kasımpaşa on March 2, 2025, Footynaija.com reports.
The Nigerian striker opened the scoring in the 11th minute, converting a penalty to give Galatasaray an early lead. He added another in the second half, taking his league tally to 16 goals this season and 22 across all competitions.
His performance, once again, emphasizes why he remains Nigeria’s biggest attacking threat ahead of key World Cup qualifiers coming up against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.

Okan Buruk’s men, however, had to settle for a point in the thrilling contest that saw both teams exchange blows from start to finish, as Kasımpaşa, one of the surprise packages of the season, refused to back down until the final whistle.
At 52 minutes, Kasimpasa scored an equalizer to level the match. They took the lead at 61 minutes, but Victor Osimhen equalized at 71 minutes, bringing the match level once more. The match eventually ended 3-3.
Speaking after the match, Osimhen admitted that the result was frustrating but insisted that Galatasaray remain focused on their title ambitions.
He said, “I would say disappointment. That’s the best way to put it. We fought against an effective opponent. Iʼm proud of my teammates for their efforts. This is a really tough league. You have to fight well from the first minute to the last minute. You can be punished very quickly,” according to Galatasaray.org.
Osimhen also spoke about the team’s strong unity, adding, “We feel united with our coach, as players, and with our fans. Sometimes, even if I don’t score, I mark and help the defense. I want to support my team no matter what. At the end of the day, we fight to win.,” Galatasaray.org reports.
With Nigeria set to face Rwanda and Zimbabwe later this month, Osimhen’s form is a huge boost for Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle, who will be counting on his star striker to deliver in those must-win encounters.
The Super Eagles have struggled in the qualifiers so far, picking up just three points from their opening four games. Anything less than six points in their upcoming fixtures could severely damage their chances of making it to the 2026 World Cup.
All eyes will be on Osimhen in the coming weeks. If he can maintain this level, he could be the key to both Galatasaray’s title hopes and the Super Eagles’ World Cup qualification chances.
