KRC Genk striker Tolu Arokodare has decisively ruled out a potential January transfer move away from the Belgian club, Soccernet.football reports.

With several clubs in France, Turkey, and England reportedly keen on signing Arokodare this winter, the Nigerian forward has made it clear that only Real Madrid could convince him to leave Genk presently.

Speaking to Het Laatste Nieuws as per Voetbal Nieuws, the Nigerian forward made his ambitions clear: “If it’s not for Real Madrid, I don’t see why it would be a golden opportunity.”

Arokodare has been in scintillating form this season, amassing 14 goals and six assists in 24 appearances across all competitions. His stellar performances have reportedly drawn interest from several top European clubs, including those in the Premier League, Ligue 1, and Bundesliga.

However, the 23-year-old has emphasised his commitment to Genk for now, adding, “If an opportunity presents itself that is good for Genk and me, then we’ll see. I’m now focusing on getting even more points. But let’s pray for a transfer to Real Madrid.”

The striker credits much of his success to Genk head coach Thorsten Fink, who has played a pivotal role in revitalizing his confidence and form.

“I might not be here without him (Fink),” Arokodare acknowledged. “He knows how to get ‘beauty’ into a group. He lets me be who I am, and I have to trust and thank him for that forever.”

Genk are understandably eager to retain their talisman as they chase domestic glory, aiming to topple Club Brugge’s dominance and secure the league title. The club is cautious, mindful of a repeat of the situation in 2023 when the departure of Paul Onuachu during the winter window disrupted their title challenge.

While Arokodare’s market value currently stands at €9 million, as estimated by Transfermarkt, Genk are expected to demand a significantly higher fee should any suitor come knocking.
