Fenerbahçe are reportedly interested in signing Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho from Bursaspor in the January transfer window after his remarkable start to the season in Turkey, Footynaija reports.
The 30-year-old has scored 16 goals and provided three assists in 12 appearances for the Turkish second-tier club, earning attention from one of the country’s biggest teams.
Iheanacho has also scored in 12 consecutive matches, the form that has reportedly put him on Fenerbahçe’s radar as they look to strengthen their attack for the second half of the campaign.
Bursaspor president Enes Çelik has acknowledged the reports linking the Nigerian forward with a move to the Istanbul club.
However, Fenerbahçe face a potential obstacle if they decide to pursue the transfer. Their foreign-player quota in the Turkish Süper Lig is currently full, meaning they would need to offload an overseas player before making room for Iheanacho.
Iheanacho, meanwhile, has refused to be drawn into speculation about his future, insisting that his priority is to keep scoring for Bursaspor.
“To be fair, I don’t talk about transfers. I really try to concentrate on my football,” he said through the club’s official channel.
The former Manchester City and Leicester City forward currently sits on top of the goals chart in the Turkish second division.
