Super Eagles defender Semi Ajayi has expressed satisfaction with Hull City’s response to their defeat to Fulham after producing a Man of the Match performance in their 1-1 draw against Brentford, Footynaija.com reports.
The Nigerian centre-back played the full 90 minutes at the MKM Stadium on Sunday, helping the newly promoted Tigers secure a point against the Premier League visitors.
Hull took the lead in the 24th minute when Oli McBurnie converted a penalty after Aaron Hickey fouled an opponent inside the box. However, Brentford fought back after the break, with Dango Ouattara restoring parity in the 63rd minute following an assist from Igor Thiago.

Ajayi was one of Hull’s standout performers, earning the Premier League’s Player of the Match award and topping the club’s fan vote for their Man of the Match honour with 43.6 per cent of the votes.
The Super Eagles defender recorded five successful tackles from six attempts, alongside four clearances, five ball recoveries and two interceptions, underlining his importance to Hull’s defensive efforts against Brentford.
Speaking after the match, Ajayi welcomed the team’s response to their previous outing but admitted that Hull would have preferred to take all three points.

“It’s important that we had a good bounce back from last week, we did that,” Ajayi told Sky Sports.
“We are definitely disappointed not to come away with the three points, but a point at home is always positive.”
The draw gives Hull City a measure of encouragement after their defeat to Fulham, while Ajayi’s individual display provides another positive for the Nigerian defender as he continues to establish himself in the Premier League.
Hull will now look to build on the result when they welcome fellow newcomers Ipswich Town to the MKM Stadium in their next fixture. The Tigers currently occupy 10th place on the Premier League table after gathering ten points from eight matches.
