Bologna are reportedly keeping close tabs on Nigerian midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro ahead of the new Serie A season, Footynaija reports.
The 21-year-old, who earned recognition with a place in Nigeria’s squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, enhanced his reputation during a season-long loan spell at Pisa. Despite the club’s relegation, Akinsanmiro emerged as one of their most dependable performers, showing maturity beyond his years in midfield.
Comfortable in both defensive and central midfield roles, the former Remo Stars player featured in 24 league matches and contributed an assist while gaining valuable top-flight experience. His energetic displays and ability to control possession have attracted attention from clubs looking to strengthen their midfield options. With 25 Serie A and 35 Serie B caps, Akinsanmiro is quietly becoming an Italian league expert.
Pisa are keen to keep him and are reportedly ready to activate a purchase clause worth around €7.5 million. However, Inter Milan remain firmly in the picture. The Nerazzurri are said to possess a buy-back mechanism valued at approximately €8.5 million, which would allow them to regain full control of the player’s future.
That uncertainty has opened the door for Bologna, who are believed to have made enquiries about Akinsanmiro’s contractual situation and the ongoing arrangements between Pisa and Inter. While discussions have not advanced into formal negotiations, the Rossoblù see the Nigerian as a player capable of adding depth, energy and long-term value to their squad.
With the summer transfer window gathering momentum, Akinsanmiro’s next destination remains unclear, but growing interest from Bologna is another sign that his performances in Italy have been well received.
