Former West Brom striker Peter Osaze Odemwingie has urged Victor Osimhen to think carefully about his next move, warning the forward to avoid a transfer to Manchester United, Footynaija reports.

Osimhen, who only made his switch to Galatasaray permanent last summer, is once again attracting attention from elite clubs including Arsenal, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona. But Odemwingie believes not every option would suit the striker at this stage of his career.

The former Stoke City forward pointed to the intense spotlight at Old Trafford, where strikers are often judged quickly and harshly. He referenced the struggles of Romelu Lukaku as an example of how even proven goalscorers can come under heavy criticism when results dip.

Odemwingie also grouped Man United with Chelsea as sides still trying to rebuild, warning that such environments can be difficult for a leading striker expected to deliver immediately.

“I didn’t particularly mention Manchester United because the problem there is huge. The pressure on forward players is immense. He should stay away from there,” Odemwingie said via Haberler.

“He should definitely stay away from Manchester United. The problems there are very deep, and the pressure on forwards is incredible. As we have seen with Romelu Lukaku and many other forwards, because the club is so big and constantly expects results, they will immediately declare a ‘scapegoat’ at the slightest failure.”

Instead, Odemwingie believes Osimhen would be better suited to more settled teams.

“Arsenal is my priority because it’s my dad’s team, but system-wise it is also a very suitable and established club for Osimhen.

“Barcelona is always a top-tier option. It’s a great stop for a player who loves to play with the ball and makes the right runs.

“Real Madrid’s wide pitch is a perfect fit for Osimhen’s speed and athleticism. With his dominance in the air and pace, he could make a big difference there.

“Osimhen is a strong player whose motivation never drops. During this golden age of his career, he should pursue his own dreams, not those of others, and reach the goal he wants.”

Aside from nine assists, Osimhen has already netted 20 goals this season for Galatasaray with seven coming in the prestigious UEFA Champions League.
