The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has put an offer on the table for Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle, doubling his current monthly salary to $100,000, as negotiations between both parties continue, Footynaija.com reports.
Chelle has been locked in talks with the NFF and the National Sports Commission since Nigeria finished third at the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.
He reportedly submitted a 19-point proposal earlier this year, at the heart of which was a request to increase his monthly earnings from $50,000 to $130,000.
The figure, he clarified when it leaked, is in dollars and not euros as initially reported, and it is designed to cover not just his own salary but the wages of his five-man technical crew, including his assistant coach, physical trainer, goalkeeper coach and personal assistant.

“When you talk about $130,000, what people don’t know is that in Africa, with the national teams I’ve worked with, I have to pay my technical staff myself,” Chelle explained.
The NFF’s position, per recent reports, is that the federation is willing to meet him halfway but will not cross the $100,000 threshold.
A senior official close to the negotiations has has shed more light on the issue.
“We are open to reviewing Eric Chelle’s current contract and willing to meet some of the terms he has proposed. The Federal Government and NFF want continuity. If he lowers his demand, we want him to stay, but we are not prepared to offer more than $100,000 per month,” the source said.
