Barcelona have begun looking ahead to a future without Robert Lewandowski, and Galatasaray forward Victor Osimhen is among the names being considered as the club reshapes its attack, Footynaija reports.

According to a report by The Athletic, the Nigeria international is being monitored by Barcelona’s recruitment department as they prepare for the summer transfer window. The Catalan club are exploring several options for the striker position as Lewandowski approaches the final stage of his contract.

Lewandowski has been a key figure since arriving from Bayern Munich in 2022, scoring 115 goals in 179 matches. However, the Polish striker turns 38 in August and has increasingly been used from the bench this season, underlining the need for long-term planning.

Barcelona had hoped Ferran Torres could grow into the central role, but the Spain forward has struggled to consistently deliver the goals expected of a leading striker. As a result, sporting director Deco and his scouting team have widened their search.

One of their preferred targets is Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez, who has impressed in La Liga since leaving Manchester City. Yet prising the Argentine away from Atletico is expected to be extremely expensive, making a deal complicated.

Other options have therefore been explored. Manchester City attacker Omar Marmoush and Osimhen are among the alternatives under discussion, with both players seen as experienced scorers at the top level.

FC Bayern Munich are reportedly considering a move for Victor Osimhen as a potential successor to Harry Kane. 👀

Even so, any move for Osimhen would be far from simple. Barcelona continue to operate under financial restrictions, while the Nigerian striker would likely command a sizeable transfer fee and significant wages.

The 27-year-old has maintained an impressive scoring record with Galatasaray, attracting interest from several major European clubs. For now, however, the striker has indicated he is content in Istanbul and would only consider leaving if an exceptional offer arrived.
