Paris Saint-Germain have rebuffed Chelsea’s attempt to sign Super Falcons midfielder Jennifer Echegini in the January transfer window, Footynaija.com reports.
Echegini joined PSG from Juventus in the summer of 2024 and has since established herself as an important player for the Premiere Ligue Feminine side with 19 goal contributions (11G, 8A) in 42 appearances across all competitions to her name.
This current season, the Super Falcons star has enjoyed impressive form for the Paris based club. In 18 outings across games in the French women’s top flight and the Women’s Champions League, she has scored twice and produced three assists.

These numbers have put Echegini on the radar of reigning English Women’s Super League, Chelsea, who are reportedly keen on acquiring her services before the close of the English transfer window on February 3.
However, a reliable report indicates that Paris Saint-Germain have rebuffed the advances of their English counterparts as they look to hold on to their prized midfielder beyond the winter transfer window.
Les Parisiennes are hoping to finish in one of those Champions League play-off places and they believe Echegini can still make significant contributions for them as they chase that top four finish.

Whether Chelsea will make another attempt to prise Echegini away from PSG remains uncertain. But it is clear that getting the French outfit to play ball will be a very tough task.
For now, the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations winner remains a PSG player, with her current contract running until the summer of 2027.
