Super Eagles and Fulham winger Samuel Chukwueze has called on Nigerians for their full support as the national team takes aim at a fourth continental crown at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, Footynaija.com reports.

Before departing London to join up with the Super Eagles, Chukwueze took part in a light-hearted interview with Fulham’s official media alongside fellow international teammates Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey.

The majority of this interview was dominated by friendly banter between the three teammates but towards the end of the chat, Chukwueze, on loan at Fulham from Serie A giants AC Milan, had a serious message for Nigerian fans.

“We promise you guys, all the Nigerian fans that at this AFCON, we’ll make you proud,” Chukwueze said solemnly.

“We believe in ourselves and I hope you guys will believe in us as well because we’re trying to make a name for ourselves, our families, for you guys and for our country Nigeria.

“So I hope you believe in us. We’ll need your voices as well because I believe we’re going to make it. I also believe in the team and the technical staff.

“We just need your full support. Whether in good or bad times because with your support, I believe we’re going to make it.”

After enduring a challenging start to life at Craven Cottage following his summer loan switch from Italy, Chukwueze’s fortunes at the West London club have turned around for the better in recent weeks.

The 26-year-old produced five goal contributions (2G, 3A) in his last five Premier League outings for the Cottagers, with the highlight of this particularly productive period coming in a substitute appearance against Manchester City earlier this month.

With Nigeria’s opening game of the tournament coming in just a couple of days, Chukwueze will be hoping his strong club form can translate to consistent performances for the Super Eagles as they aim to go one better than they did at the last tournament.
