Nigeria’s Super Eagles players signed off from club duty with encouraging performances across Europe on Saturday, offering a timely reminder of their form and confidence ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, Footynaija.com reports.

In the Premier League, Tolu Arokodare marked a personal milestone despite Wolverhampton Wanderers suffering late heartbreak against Arsenal.

The Nigerian striker opened his Premier League account at the Emirates Stadium, rising highest in the 90th minute to head home Mateus Mané’s cross and draw Wolves level after an earlier Sam Johnstone own goal had put Arsenal ahead.

Wolves’ celebrations were short-lived, however, as Yerson Mosquera turned the ball into his own net deep into stoppage time to hand Arsenal a 2–1 victory and extend their lead at the top of the table.

For Arokodare, who arrived in England after a prolific season in Belgium, the goal was a welcome boost as he continues to settle at Molineux.

In Turkey, Victor Osimhen remained in ruthless form as Galatasaray swept aside Antalyaspor 4–1 to tighten their grip on the Super Lig title race.

After early goals from Leroy Sané and Roland Sallai, Osimhen stole the spotlight with a powerful finish from a tight angle midway through the second half, before Mauro Icardi sealed the win late on.

The victory kept Galatasaray top on 39 points, with Osimhen heading into AFCON in full flow.

Nigeria’s influence was also felt in England as Fulham defeated Burnley 3–2 away from home.

Calvin Bassey restored Fulham’s lead with a simple header, Samuel Chukwueze provided the assist for Harry Wilson’s goal, and Alex Iwobi impressed in midfield before being withdrawn late on.

In the Italian Serie A, Ademola Lookman was unlucky not to find the back of the net but his Atalanta did enough to register a 2-1 home win over Cagliari.

Despite receiving two red cards, nine-man Lazio, with the help of Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, secured a fine 1-0 away win against Parma.

In the French Ligue 1, Moses Simon and Paris FC were taught a bitter lesson as they stumbled to a tough 3-0 loss at home to Toulouse.

In the EFL Championship, Ryan Alebiosu was in action for Blackburn Rovers in their 2-1 defeat at Portsmouth. Alebiosu received a yellow card in the encounter.

Semi Ajayi was a rock in defence for Hull City, helping the club claim a fine 3-1 victory against Millwall.

Bright Osayi-Samuel was an unused substitute for Birmingham City in their 1-1 home draw against Charlton Athletic.

In the Belgian top flight, Tochukwu Nnadi impressed at the middle of the park as his Zulte Waregem were forced to a 2-2 draw by visiting La Louviere.

All eyes now turn to national duty, with the Super Eagles set to report to camp in Cairo on Monday before facing Egypt in a friendly ahead of their AFCON opener against Tanzania on 23 December.
