Samsunspor president Yüksel Yıldırım has been left dazed by Victor Osimhen‘s two-goal display against his club on Friday night, Footynaija.com reports.
Victor Osimhen delivered a sensational performance at RAMS Park as Galatasaray defeated Samsunspor 3–2 in a dramatic Turkish Super Lig clash.
The Nigerian striker scored twice, including a stunning bicycle-kick winner in stoppage time, to secure all three points for the defending champions.
Galatasaray took a 2–0 lead in the first half through Leroy Sané and Osimhen, who struck in the 29th minute after racing onto a Leroy Sané pass.
But Samsunspor mounted an impressive comeback, scoring through Anthony Musaba and Emre Kılınç to level the match at 2–2 in the 88th minute.
Just when the visitors looked set to claim a valuable point, Osimhen produced a moment of brilliance, acrobatically firing home in the 93rd minute. The goal triggered loud celebrations in Istanbul and sealed a vital win for the league leaders.
Samsunspor president Yüksel Yıldırım praised his team’s fightback but admitted Osimhen’s goal was unstoppable.
“Samsunspor asserted their dominance in the second half,” he told AA.
“We could have scored. We missed chances. ‘If we’re going to lose, let’s lose like this.’ Then, in the 88th minute, we got the goal we were waiting for. We brought the score from 2-0 to 2-2. We thought the match would end like this. Then Victor Osimhen showed why he’s an €80 million player. No one else in Türkiye could have scored that goal.”
The brace takes Osimhen’s tally to five goals in ten league games this season and marks his first goals since returning from a hamstring injury. Galatasaray now have 36 points from 15 matches, maintaining their four-point lead over rivals Fenerbahçe.
