Barcelona are reportedly monitoring Galatasaray forward Victor Osimhen as they begin drawing up plans for a new striker next summer, Footynaija.com reports.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the Nigerian marksman has emerged as one of the Catalan giants’ preferred options to refresh their attack.
2023 Africa Footballer of the Year award winner Osimhen, who joined Galatasaray permanently from Napoli during the last transfer window, has made an instant impact in Turkey.

The 26-year-old has scored six goals in nine appearances across all competitions, including three in the UEFA Champions League, as he builds up his reputation as one of Europe’s most reliable finishers.
His prolific form for club and country, highlighted by a hat-trick for Nigeria against Benin Republic in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, has not gone unnoticed.
Barcelona manager Hansi Flick is said to be exploring replacements for veteran striker Robert Lewandowski, who has struggled with fitness and form this season. The Pole, 37, has managed just four goals in nine outings, prompting the search for a long-term solution.

Despite Osimhen’s strong contract situation in Istanbul, Barcelona’s interest is genuine. However, the club’s ongoing financial limitations could make negotiations difficult, especially given Galatasaray’s reluctance to lose their marquee signing so soon.
Only two Nigerian internationals – Samuel Okunowo and Emmanuel Amuneke – have ever played for Barcelona’s senior team. A Victor Osimhen transfer will make him only the third in history.
