Nigerian striker Akor Adams could not contain his excitement after helping Sevilla make light work of defending champions Barcelona in a La Liga clash at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium, Footgnaija.com reports.
Sunday’s 4-1 win was Sevilla’s first over Barcelona in ten years, and Adams capped off a memorable evening with his first goal at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium.
The Nigerian striker came off the bench in the second half to score in stoppage time, finishing off a fine assist from compatriot Chidera Ejuke to seal the emphatic result.

Adams, who has now netted in consecutive league games since joining the Andalusian side in January, praised the team’s resilience and collective effort after their remarkable triumph.
“This gives a lot of credit to the team,” Adams told El Sevillista.
“We’ve been in our own bubble, doing what we’ve worked on, and all that effort has paid off. It’s a historic moment. We have to focus on the positives and leave everything else aside.”
The 25-year-old forward also dedicated his goal to teammate Isaac Romero and expressed his delight at bagging his first goal on Sevilla’s home ground.
“Total madness,” he added. “I want to give recognition to Isaac Romero. As for me, my first task was to defend and then push forward. I’m very happy to score my first goal at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan.”
Adams’ recent form has not gone unnoticed back home with the former Flying Eagles star earning a call-up to Nigeria’s national team for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Benin.
He’ll be looking forward to making his Super Eagles debut and potentially contributing as Nigeria aim for a strong finish to what has largely been a disappointing World Cup qualification campaign.
