Legendary Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Steve Bull has shared his thoughts on the Premier League club’s signing of prolific Super Eagles striker Toluwalase Arokodare, Footynaija.com reports.

Wolves bagged the signature of the towering 24-year-old striker on transfer deadline day, parting ways with £24 million to prise him off the hands of Belgian side KRC Gent and make him the most expensive sale in the history of the Jupiler Pro League club.

Arokodare’s switch to the Premier League is coming off the back of a sensational individual 2024/2025 campaign that saw him notch 21 league goals in 40 appearances for Genk to clinch the Belgian top scorer award and Ebony Shoe.

Sharing his thoughts on the signing, Steve Bull, who spent 13 long years (1986-1999) on the books at Wolverhampton Wanderers and remains the club’s all-time top scorer till this present day, gave his nod of approval to the arrival of the Nigeria international.

“We have also signed some competition up front in Tolu Arokodare, who will put Larsen [Wolves’ current first-choice striker] under some pressure,” Bull said in quotes revealed by Molineux News.

“I’ve watched some clips of him and he’s a raw centre forward, which I like! He will put his body on the line to score a goal. Having competition is always important and that feels like a good signing to me.”

Arokodare’s arrival at the Molineux certainly comes as a huge boost for Victor Pereira’s front line especially after losing Matheus Cunha to Premier League rivals Manchester United earlier in the summer.

Wolves’ significant outlay on the Super Eagles star also suggests he will be playing a major role as they look to do better than last season’s 16th place finish this time around.

Arokodare’s super-sub performance in Nigeria’s recent victory over Rwanda in the ongoing CAF World Cup qualification campaign would’ve given observing Wolves fans plenty to cheer.
