Two former Super Eagles stars, Victor Obinna Nsofor and Joel Obi, rolled back the years at the Santiago Bernabéu as Inter Milan Legends took on Real Madrid Legends in the 2026 Corazón Classic Match, Footynaija reports.
The annual charity fixture, organised by the Real Madrid Foundation, gathered some of football’s most recognisable retired stars in Madrid, with funds raised earmarked for projects supporting vulnerable children across the world.
Inter’s veteran side appeared set for victory when former Brazil midfielder Hernanes put them ahead in the 41st minute. Although Koke Contreras saved his initial penalty, the ex-Lazio playmaker reacted quickest to fire home the rebound and give the Nerazzurri the lead before halftime.
Real Madrid Legends responded strongly after the interval. Former Portugal defender Pepe restored parity with a towering header in the 69th minute before ex-Spanish striker David Barral completed the turnaround six minutes later, beating Francesco Toldo from close range to secure a 2-1 win for the hosts.
Obi and Obinna were both introduced in the second half as Inter searched for a response. Obi replaced Esteban Cambiasso in midfield shortly before the hour mark and helped add energy to Inter’s engine room, while Obinna came on for David Suazo and stretched the Madrid defence with his pace and movement.
Their appearances brought back memories of their respective spells with Inter. Obi emerged from the club’s youth ranks and went on to win the FIFA Club World Cup, Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana. Obinna, meanwhile, was part of José Mourinho’s Serie A-winning squad in 2008/09 before enjoying spells in England, Spain and Russia.
