Wolves have completed the signing of Nigerian forward Tolu Arokodare from Belgian side Genk in a deal worth £22.4m, Footynaija.com reports.

The 24-year-old has agreed a four-year contract at Molineux, with the option of a further season. The transfer represents a record sale for Genk, surpassing the £22m fee Sheffield United paid for Sander Berge in 2020.

Arokodare arrives in the Premier League on the back of a prolific campaign in Belgium, where he scored 23 goals in all competitions and claimed the Golden Boot as the league’s top scorer. He also picked up the Ebony Shoe, awarded to the best African player in Belgium.

At 6ft 6in, Arokodare offers Wolves a physical presence up front and a proven eye for goal. His career has taken him from Latvia’s Valmiera, where he netted 22 goals in 34 games, to spells in Germany with FC Köln and in France with Amiens. He moved to Genk in January 2023 and quickly became one of the Belgian Pro League’s standout forwards.

The striker made his Nigeria debut earlier this year, scoring once in four appearances. He is expected to link up with the Super Eagles this week as they prepare for World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa.

Arokodare now joins fellow Nigerians Taiwo Awoniyi, Ola Aina, Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi in the Premier League.
