“I want a taste of it again” – Alex Iwobi sets clear target for Fulham as new season kicks off

Super Eagles and Fulham star Alex Iwobi has set his sights on finishing in one of the available European spots on the Premier League table by the end of the 2025/2026 season, Footynaija.com reports.

Iwobi’s Fulham gave a pretty decent account of themselves in last season’s Premier League campaign, gaining a reputation for taking valuable points off the traditionally established top sides of the English top flight.

They appeared to be on course to secure one of the European spots but a late season drop in form saw the Cottagers lose six of their last ten Premier League matches, meaning they had to settle for a lower half of the table finish.

Despite enduring a difficult end to the 2024/2025 season, Fulham still had a reason to be proud, having managed a total points haul of 54 and setting a new record for their highest-ever points tally in a single top flight campaign.

With a new season now on the horizon for the Cottagers, Super Eagles attacker Alex Iwobi has revealed that securing European football is one of the main targets for the West London club.

“Everyone wants to play in Europe,” Iwobi said in quotes revealed by The Standard. “I have played in Europe before – I want a taste of it again.

“Everyone was pleased [last season], but it’s just a stepping stone to improve, to hopefully finish in the top 10, hopefully finish in the Europa Conference League spot – that’s the aim for this season.”

Iwobi and Fulham begin their long-term quest to secure European football with a trip to Brighton and Hove Albion’s AMEX Stadium for their Premier League opener.
