Motor Lubin defender Bright Ede is staying grounded despite the mounting transfer buzz surrounding his name amid serious interest in his services from Premier League heavyweights Arsenal and Chelsea, Footynaija.com reports.
Despite only bursting onto the scene in January when he left Polish third-tier side Zaglebie Lubin II for Motor Lublin in €100,000 deal, Bright Ede is already stirring a transfer war between two of London’s biggest clubs.
Arsenal were the first to show interest in the 17-year-old center-back but it appears Chelsea will be the ones to edge this competition with reports suggesting the Blues are very close to finalizing a deal with Motor Lubin.
Bright Ede, who remains eligible to play for Nigeria through his parents despite already featuring for Poland at youth level, has become one of the most talked about names in Polish football amid the ongoing tug-of-war for his signature.
While the young defender is pleased that his game has developed enough to attract attention from top clubs, he insists he is only focused on his current club and nothing else matters at the moment.

“Tomorrow we start the preparation period. I try to focus on the present – football is a dynamic sport, a lot is happening, but for now only Motor counts,” Ede said as per Polsatsport.
“I am here, I play here and with this team I want to enter the new season as well prepared as possible.
“I’m glad that such information is appearing – it’s a sign that I’m developing well and my game is attracting attention.
“It’s motivating for me, but I keep a cool head. The most important thing is not to lose focus and continue to work hard.”
Bright Ede’s professional career has only just begun but the level of interest shown by the Arsenal and Chelsea in snagging his signature this summer suggests there’s serious talent there.
