Exciting Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze has opened up on his disappointing campaign with Serie A giants AC Milan, tagging the just concluded 2024/2025 “one of the worst” of his professional career, Footynaija.com reports.
Chukwueze, currently on international duty with the Nigeria national team, displayed flashes of his undeniable talent as the Super Eagles edged past arch rivals Ghana and the Reggae Boys of Jamaica to lift the Unity Cup on Saturday.
The left-footed trickster was Nigeria’s main man in the absence of other big names like Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, Alex Iwobi and Victor Boniface. He created Nigeria’s second goal against Ghana and then grabbed one of his own against Jamaica to cap off a brilliant individual performance.

However, Chukwueze battled different fortunes in his club AC Milan during the course of the just concluded season. Injury problems and a change of guard at the helm of affairs were some of the highlights of what the former Villareal winger described as an “upside down season.”
What Samuel Chukwueze said about AC Milan’s season
“Last season is something we don’t want to talk about. It was a bad season for the Milan fans and for everyone,” he said in an interview with Victor Modo.
“It’s one of my worst seasons, I’m not going to lie. Not winning anything, not playing much even though I had the stats. Going out of the Champions League, losing the cup and Scudetto – everything just went wrong. It was a tough season, with injuries, changing the coach, bringing in a new one. It was all upside down.”
AC Milan finished eighth in Serie A and will be without any form of European football next season. Chukwueze praised the Milan fans for their unwavering support all through the season and expressed hope that the team would be able to make things up next season.
“The Milan fans are some of the best in the world, they truly deserve better,” he continued. They travel with us in the rain, and even when it’s freezing, you see them taking off their shirts, chanting and showing unwavering support.
“Unfortunately, we let them down this season. I hope next season will be much better in Milan, winning the Scudetto, the Coppa Italia, and securing Champions League qualification to make up for everything.”
Despite apparently falling out of favour in Milan last season, Chukwueze’s comments indicate that he might be staying put with the Rossoneri next season.
