Super Eagles’ Maduka Okoye talks Udinese loyalty amid lingering exit speculations

Super Eagles shot-stopper Maduka Okoye has reiterated his commitment to Udinese amid ongoing speculations surrounding his future at the Serie A club, Footynaija.com reports.

Okoye’s resurgence at the Bluenergy Stadium has put him on the radar of top clubs across Europe with the Super Eagles number 1 reportedly drawing admirers from Serie A as well as the Premier League.

Footynaija.com previously reported that both AC Milan and Bournemouth were two teams with concrete interest in the Nigeria international.

According to the report, Milan were considering the option of exploring a deal for the former Watford shot-stopper after failing in their bid to secure his signature in the summer of 2024.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth reportedly started negotiations for a potential deal with the Bianconeri. The Cherries reportedly put an offer of €13 million on the table to signal their serious intent.

Despite this, Okoye appears to have watered down any rumours of a potential exit this summer. During a program tagged “Face to Face with Your Champions,” Udinese fans asked the 25-year-old where he would like to play in the future.

“I am one of you, I am a black and white player, and I am happy to be here,” the Dusseldorf-born Nigerian goalkeeper replied.

“It is difficult to think about the future because I am only focused on Udinese, the club and the fans have entered my heart.”

Despite Okoye’s comments, football has proven to be a sport where anything can happen both on and off the field of play. With this in mind, it will come as no surprise if the light-skinned goalkeeper swaps clubs this summer.

If a concrete offer does arrive from one of the clubs mentioned – AC Milan or Bournemouth – it’s difficult to see Okoye turning down the chance to step up his career.
