Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has once again shown his support for Nigerian football by gifting Remo Stars ₦10 million following their maiden Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title triumph, Footynaija.com reports.
Remo Stars sealed their first-ever NPFL championship with a narrow 1-0 win over Niger Tornadoes on Sunday. The victory marked a special moment for the Ikenne-based club, who had previously endured heartbreaks, finishing as runners-up twice and third once in the last three seasons.
The club’s achievement represents a massive breakthrough for privately-owned teams in Nigeria’s top flight. Remo Stars have now become the first private club from South-Western Nigeria to lift the league title since Julius Berger of Lagos did so in 2000.

As part of the celebration, Osimhen, who plays for Galatasaray in the Turkish Süper Lig sent a cash reward of ₦10 million to the team.
According to a report by Legit.ng, the 26-year-old reached out directly to head coach Daniel Ogunmodede to deliver the generous gesture.
Osimhen and Ogunmodede share a past connection, having worked together during the 2025 AFCON qualification campaign when Austin Eguavoen served as interim coach.
Osimhen’s donation has earned him widespread praise among fans, with many calling him a true ambassador for Nigerian football.
The title win is even more symbolic for Ogunmodede, who reflected on his journey with the club. Speaking to the club’s media, he said: “It brings back memories of how I arrived at this club in 2015… I spent six years as an assistant coach and director of youth football, then four years now as head coach. We came second, twice, and now we are champions. I am very elated.”
Osimhen’s continuous commitment to supporting Nigerian football, both at the grassroots and professional levels, is earning him admiration far beyond his goalscoring exploits.
