Nigerian striker Friday Etim has opened up on the mentality driving his impressive run at FC Midtjylland after helping his side secure a vital point against Nordsjælland, Footynaija.com reports
The visitors took the lead twice in an intense encounter, but Midtjylland fought back on both occasions, with Etim among the players who made the difference.
Following a cagey first half, the game burst into life after the break as Nordsjælland took the lead in the 63rd minute through Mark Brink. Midtjylland responded nine minutes later, with Etim finishing a precise cross from his compatriot Stanley Iheanacho to restore parity.

The visitors quickly regained the advantage when Hjalte Boe capitalised on a spilled save from Elias Olafsson in the 74th minute. Midtjylland, however, refused to give up and eventually found a late equaliser in the 86th minute, as Martin Erlic rose highest from a long throw to head home and secure a share of the spoils.
“I think the goal I scored today gave us some confidence back,” Etim said after the game. “I picked up the ball right away and ran back so we could get going again.
“Nordsjælland managed to score again, but we held on – and that’s an important mentality. We work for each other until the end. It’s not easy when you fall behind in an intense match like the one we’re playing today.
“We keep fighting, capitalize on it, and play our way back into the match. Got a point today, and now the next games await. We have to go to them, just like we always do.”
The 24-year-old is also enjoying an encouraging personal spell, having contributed two goals and two assists across his last three games. However, Etim was quick to insist that his recent numbers are a product of the collective effort rather than individual brilliance.
“It wouldn’t be possible if it weren’t for the whole team. It’s all a team effort. My teammates make it easy and they play me at the right time.”
Etim returned to Midtjylland in the summer after spending the second half of last season at Fredericia, where regular playing time helped him continue his development.
His latest form suggests that the Nigerian is beginning to establish himself once again at the MCH Arena, with Midtjylland preparing for a busy period across multiple competitions.
The Danish side will next turn their attention to the Betano Cup on Thursday when they face Sundby, and Etim will be hoping to continue his strong run of form in front of goal.
