Stanley Iheanacho has said Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen is the player he admires the most as he continues to impress during Midtjylland’s pre-season preparations, Footynaija reports.
The Nigerian striker has enjoyed a brilliant return to the Danish club after spending last season with Portuguese side CD Mafra. He has scored in all three of Midtjylland’s friendly matches against Lillestrøm, Malmö, and Silkeborg, giving him three goals before the start of the 2026/27 season.
Speaking to Midtjylland’s official media, Iheanacho explained why Galatasaray forward Osimhen remains his biggest inspiration.
“Yes, I look up to Victor Osimhen. He is a fantastic guy, a fighter who has had to fight his way out of poverty,” Iheanacho said.
He added: “His warrior mentality is inspiring, and when he plays, he gives everything – he is so hungry to score goals. I can see a lot of things from him in myself.”
The 20-year-old also revealed that he spends time studying Osimhen’s performances and interviews to help improve his own game. He hopes his hard work will one day earn him the chance to play alongside the Super Eagles striker.
“I watch his clips and all the interviews he gives. I try to learn from him and my dream is to play with him one day,” Iheanacho concluded.
Iheanacho returned to Midtjylland after scoring 14 goals for CD Mafra in Portugal’s Liga 3 last season. With his strong pre-season form, he will now hope to continue finding the net when the new campaign begins and prove he is ready to become one of the club’s key attacking players.
